In honor of Jeremy Affeldt still being an active Major League Baseball-playing human and (for at least a few seconds every month or so by Shapecity) rostered by a Defector, here is Anderson's record of, and unedited comments on, some trades from the summer of 2003. Sometimes I miss having that guy in the league. Sometimes. Bonus points if you stick around long enough to figure out what the hell this lede is all about.

July 5th
Giants picks up more power by aquiring Sexson (1B-Mil) from the Nightmares for Mark Buehrle (SP-CWS) and Park (SP-Tex), ok so Nightmare picks up more throwers(WHY?) and lets go of a major power source (AGAIN WHY?)....Park is on DL list which means he join join Mares other crap on the DL, Buehrle better win 20 games for this to even out.

Miracle trades Moss, Damian (SP-SF) , Castilla, Vinny (3B-Atl), Brazelton, Dewon (SP-TB), Wright, David (3b-NYM), Miracles 1st and 2nd round picks for 2004 to Shapecity in a deal for Troy Glaus.
OK I am a huge fan of Glauss but.........talk about overkill. I believe this trade has turned Shape around, great deal for Shape, very questionable for Miracle.

Me being a Thrower fan Shape has another big winner in this deal!

Hrbek picks up numbers of players I guess he needs Galaxy bein the Thief he is has another trade that he desrves time for.
Jun 18, Durazo, Erubiel (1B, DH-Oak)(Durazo has cooled after a hot start, but manager Ken Macha is continuing to play him regularly and will be rewarded for his patience.) and Thomson, John (SP-Tex)(getting out of Texas would be great news for his fantasy value.) goes to Giants while Dye,Jermaine (RF, DH-Oak)(Dye owners should keep two numbers in mind -- 18 and 53. Those are the numbers of homers and RBI that Dye had after the All-Star break in 2002 and he might even get up to his Weight in BA.) and Lackey, John (SP-Ana) goes to Sactown Rivercats

Jun 16, Boston Blaze gets Burrell, Pat (LF-Phi)(yes he is finally battin over 200!!!!!!!) Rodriguez, Ricardo (SP-Cle) (probably will be activated June 25. It's all about the schedule with Rodriguez. His three wins have come against the Orioles, Royals and Tigers. He's lost to the Mariners, Angels (twice), Rangers and Red Sox.) in the deal where Missouri Miracle gets Moss, Damian (SP-SF)(Moss has been struggling through a dead-arm phase. It's unclear whether he's out of the woods just yet, but his last start he was solid) and Remlinger, Mike (RP-ChC)(36 and still rock solid as a reliever)
Jun 16, Giants steal Berroa, Angel (SS-KC), from Miracle. Berroa seems to be establishing himself as a solid fantasy shortstop at 22 years of age. Missouri Miracle gets Alfonzo, Edgardo (3B-SF) who is so up and down not even God knows which he will be each day and at 30 will he get any better?

A deal that started May 28th was finally completed June 7th....Brandon Webb for Jarrod Washburn. Guess both wanted the players bad, to put up with all the crap written after this deal started!

DreadLocks Finally Dumps Aurilia!!!!!
Oakland Dreadlocks traded Aurilia, Rich (SS-SF) to Shapecity for Franklin, Wayne (SP-Mil) and Snyder, Kyle (SP-KC).
After weeks of trying finally Aurilia has been unloaded by Oak, way to keep hard at it guy.
